MHS class of 66 has lost a classmate
Chip (LB) Sutton passed away today (2/12/14) in Maryville.
Jan called to tell me he had been in a nursing home since
his Mother died.
Jan and I reminisced about our days in the 4th grade (Mrs. Jackson)
at Sam Houston and how all of us including Chip were rather much
terrorized by the woman. Jan reminded me of the time she called
Chip LB and he corrected her by politely saying he would rather be
called Chip. Mrs. Jackson returned the request by spanking him.
He was retired from the military, a retired elementary teacher, taught water aerobics
in Maryville at Olympia Health Club and also created
dried flower arrangements that were sold in Townsend.
While at MHS he was a member of the band and several other
organizations. Chip took care of his mother for years and they were
living together when both of them went to the nursing homes. She died almost
a year ago.
If you go on line the Maryville Daily Times should have
the funeral arrangements
tomorrow.

COME SEE COACH WILSON
Our coach, some of us from Jr. High on, Ted Wilson
is going to be in Maryville and there is going to be
a reception (no not with all the food and stuff) for him
in the lunch room at Maryvile High School.
It will be Thursday Aug. 29th at 5 PM.
After, MHS will be practicing under the lights on the
new field that most of us have yet to see. The next night,
MHS will beat Alcoa.
Coach is reportedly 79 but that is hard to believe seeing how
the members of the class of 66 have yet to hit the big 40 mark!
Do come see him, and invite anyone who was influenced by him
to join us!
PS
Been finding a ton of old pictures of Maryville on line
and this is a good time to include some of them.

Really old new pictures
There is a book coming out that features rather old pictures of buildings in Maryville. Yea I know, another remember when featuring places we can't remember or could care less about even trying to remember. When it does get out we shall link you over for info on buying said book but until then, here are some pictures that feature Knoxville and Maryville that you may or may not find kinda fun to look at.
Can you tell there isn't much going on to blog about? Bless the staff's hearts, they are trying so lets all give them a big attagirl/boy and take a glance at yesterday.
Thanks!
